i have a suspicion that the Mistress takes her turns around the ballroom floor lethally serious. She radiates all indications that her invitation is a dance to the death -- and has no plans of the deceased being her. Not to mention that the alternatives hat will be offered for a refusal will be infinitely worse.

Yes, more or less is near your idea about my work ;)
Generally, people looks her like a maiden more on the dance floor .. a normal lady as all the rest, but no.. she will take revenge on all those gentlemen who invited her to dance and then put her aside alone. So, I put the title "Dance with me" not as a question, but as a order. If you don't obey her, they will end up the same or worse than the rest :dead:

THAT is fantastic. The mysterious maiden with a razor sharp edge that you do not feel until in the inescapable embrace of her dark retribution dance. Those words of the old song come to my mind as crystal clear as though she whispers them into ones ear before her command to come with her and dance. i can imagine her very assertively marking her name on the chosen one's dance card as she says so that only they can hear, "Don't forget who's taking you home and in who's arms you are going to be, save the last dance for me" Of course not telling that home is not likely where her heart is, nor that her order will be your last dance forever.
